iPhone 13 Pro Max LCD Display

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has an impressive 2.8K 2778×1284 pixel display. It is a very high resolution display with a wide color gamut. It achieves Top Tier Display Performance with Record Setting Outstanding Calibration and Absolute Color Accuracy that is Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect.

The display also has a Night Shift mode that reduces the amount of Blue light it produces. This can help with sleep and eye strain issues at night.

High Dynamic Range Mobile HDR

Unlike previous iPhones, the 13 Pro Max has a new Smart HDR feature that automatically balances highlights and shadows to deliver better looking photos in high contrast scenes. This is achieved by taking three photos at different exposures and then merging them together to create a single photo with more detail in both the brightest and darkest areas.

This also means that it can take slightly longer to capture an image as the phone will have to move slightly between each exposure. This is why it is important to hold the phone very still or mount it on a tripod when shooting HDR photos.

The DisplayMate Contrast Rating for Ambient Light on the 13 Pro Max measures up to 231, which is one of the highest that we have ever measured on a Smartphone screen. It also has a very low Reflectance that helps to increase the maximum Ambient Light Screen Brightness while maintaining excellent image contrast and clarity.

120 Hz Refresh Rate

Refresh rate is a measurement of how many times the display refreshes its image per second. The higher the refresh rate, the more responsive and smooth the screen will appear. The iphone 13 pro max lcd iPhone 13 Pro Max is one of the few smartphones to feature a 120 Hz refresh rate.

This high refresh rate can improve the smoothness and responsiveness of UI animations, and it can also make cursor movements on the screen look much more accurate and natural. It can also help reduce motion blur, which is often caused by the slow transition between different parts of a picture.

Another benefit of a high refresh rate is that it can reduce the amount of Color Shift with Viewing Angle, which is an important factor for Smartphones because they are typically used by single viewers who hold them at varying angles, or by multiple side-by-side users. For example, OLED displays tend to experience a much smaller Color Shift than LCDs with a 30 degree viewing angle.

Higher Maximum Full White Screen Brightness

The iPhone 13 Pro Max delivers a stunningly High-Quality Display experience. Its impressive resolution and HDR10 rendering combine with outstanding image sharpness and natural-looking color rendering. It is very readable in sunlight and does an exceptionally good job of handling aliasing — as demonstrated by the excellent contrast in the illustration below.

It also delivers the highest maximum Full White Screen Brightness for an OLED Smartphone and the lowest Screen Reflectance. Its DisplayMate Precision Factory Calibration results in the best Absolute Picture Quality and absolute Color Accuracy that we have ever measured in a Smartphone. Its absolute color accuracy is Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect, significantly better than any other Smartphone or UHD TV on the market.

Its Auto-Brightness setting automatically changes the Display Brightness based on ambient light conditions, which is very important for battery running time. Its Power Efficiency is very high, as measured by our Display Power Consumption Tests.

Higher Absolute Color Accuracy

According to DisplayMate the iPhone 13 Pro Max sets new records for Absolute Color Accuracy, Screen Brightness, Contrast Ratio and more. It also delivers a much higher HDR peak brightness than its predecessor. Its 120 Hz refresh rate makes image scrolling and videos look smooth, and may reduce screen flicker that some people experience.

Its IPS-AMOLED panel is very accurate for standard sRGB content and can cover 26% more of the Wide DCI-P3 color space than the old model. It has a very small White Point Color Shift with Viewing Angle that is virtually imperceptible to the human eye.

It has excellent readability in all conditions and outstanding HDR10 video quality with perfect color fidelity and dynamic range, with no frame drops or judder. Its Auto-Brightness adjustment is exceptionally smooth, adjusting iphone 13 pro max lcd to changing ambient light conditions very quickly and consistently. It also has very good Intensity Scale accuracy and a close match to the Standard Gamma curve.

Higher Power Efficiency

The iPhone 13 Pro Max’s high resolution OLED display is also one of the most power efficient displays on the market. Compared to LCDs, OLEDs use about half as much power while still maintaining the same brightness and color performance.

The OLED iPhone 13 Pro Max Display has smaller Color Shifts with Viewing Angle compared to most LCDs (especially IPS and FFS based LCDs). In particular, the White Shift is less than 2 percent at 30 degrees, making it almost imperceptible for single viewers.

In addition, the OLED iPhone 13 Pro Max display has a very low Dynamic Power Consumption that results in the Display having a higher Battery Running Time compared to the LCD iPhone 12 Pro Max. See the Display Power section for more details.

Night Shift Mode

The iPhone 13 Pro Max’s display also supports Night Shift Mode, which automatically changes the color temperature of the screen to reduce blue light in low-light conditions. This helps reduce eye strain and may help you sleep better at night.

Using the Control Center, you can enable and customize the settings for this feature. By default, it activates at sunset and turns off at sunrise. You can also manually turn it on at a specific time during the day and set it to turn off a minute later.

To make this work, your device needs to have Location Services enabled so it knows when it’s sunset in your area. It’s also important to have your calendar and events configured correctly. Otherwise, the scheduling might be incorrect and you won’t get the right result. To fix this, you can go to Settings Display & Brightness Night Shift and change the schedule.
